Bringing solstice celebrations to a global audience with a flexible and evolving campaign identity

I developed a visual identity and set of digital assets to promote English Heritage’s Summer Solstice livestream at Stonehenge — one of their biggest online events of the year. Working across social media, YouTube and livestream graphics, the designs needed to feel celebratory, accessible, and aligned with the brand, while also standing out as a unique campaign. Starting with four creative concepts, I presented clear rationales to guide the client’s decision-making. We landed on a mosaic grid design - a bold yet flexible system that built on the previous year’s campaign while bringing something new. This visual direction was designed for adaptability, allowing us to repurpose it for future events including the Winter Solstice and a livestream at Woodhenge, using alternative colour palettes and icons to reflect the different locations and times of year.

Designing for motion, clarity and adaptability across channels

Once the campaign direction was approved, I created a suite of static and animated assets to promote the event across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Working in After Effects, I animated sequences for the livestream itself, including an opening title and an explainer showing how the Solstice works - bringing storytelling and atmosphere to the digital broadcast. The modular nature of the design system made it easy to update for future livestreams, supporting the internal team with assets that could evolve without reinventing the wheel and making it instantly recognisable for English Heritage supporters.
